Movement for women bodies in winter.
Every woman has an immense well of energy inside her pelvis. An energetic flame that represents her Eros, her life force, her energy, her spark, her pulse of aliveness. It is vital for women to keep this energy alive inside her body in winter when we aren’t able to receive it as readily through the sun. In winter, a woman’s body needs to move sensually from the pelvis to generate Eros in her body to keep her spark alive and let pleasure run through her system as a regenerative resource.
The easiest way to do this is spiralling the hips in circles and moving the pelvis in figure of 8s like a snake- starting slow and sensual and letting it build in pace to dance or shake the bum if the body wants it. I cannot tell you how much my body has LOVED moving like this as we descend into winter, it has kept my spirits up as my moods get really affected by the greyer days. The hips are so connected to the heart and a woman needs to be connected to her heart to be receptive to pleasure. By opening the hips it ripples up the spine to the heart and the body becomes a pulsating, undulating channel for pleasure. Pleasure is medicine for the female nervous system. Receiving pleasure is what the female pelvis is built for. This is also a beautiful practice for when a woman is on her bleed, blood moves in spirals and moving in this way is deeply supportive for cramps and ease of flow.
