What’s inspiring me by Francesca

As we approach Summer Solstice on june 21st which is the longest day, highest light and halfway point of the year, I am called back to see how far I have come in embodying the wisdom of a poetic contemplation piece I wrote back at the autumn equinox 6 months ago as we were entering the darker half of the year. It is heartening and humbling to see how much I and the souls I teach have lived into its words.

Like the seasons, you and I too have to die to previous versions of ourselves and ways of being/relating in order to be reborn, grow and change form. The slower the pace the more sustainable. Soul work is slow and our bodies, hearts and minds tend to take a little more time to catch up with our deeper self, our soul. The most important part is to stay with the human aches and be willing and committed to go all the way in with the process of giving them another way.

Solstice means "sun standing still ", let this piece invite you to pause, reflect and rewrite any stories that have gone past their expiration date the past 6 months. My intention is that this piece supports you to open into the next 6 months of the year more clear, more embodied and choosing a life more true to your soul and not your old story.

Contemplation piece for Solstice on relating, change, love and creativity:

GIVE THE ACHES ANOTHER WAY
Are the thought loops staying the same?
Hardened edges becoming gentler grooves through asking different questions.
Does the story feel old?
Give the characters new language to play with.
When their reflection feels critical, get intimate with your own inner critic.
Why didn't they teach us presence and connection and how to repair?
Why didn't they model emotional maturity, accountability and care that can hold difference as something deeply sacred?
Difference that aches to be protected, cherished, respected.
If your heart is aching, share its voice vulnerably, shaking with no expectation.
If another's heart is aching, have the humility to listen to what they are really saying underneath defensiveness and projection.
Lean into what's hard with an undefended heart.
As the seasons transition, shape-shift with her and from her evolutionary wisdom.
When the soul feels starved, make art.
When there is nothing left to say, sing.
Get into the rupture with your brush,
And paint until the wound blooms.
It probably won't take the ache away.
But that's not really the point.
What if there is a calling that goes way beyond problem solving?
That everyone who is different from you is just aching for some understanding.
How can we devote ourselves to the process of holding each other in the depths of relating and art-making?
That go beyond preference, beyond the subjective, beyond surface, nowhere near perfect.
Is that not what real love is?
Is that what art is seeking to get you to do?
To be willing to go beyond what you have done and what you think you know.
And see where the growing aches take you.
May these words serve your soul's deeper truth,
All my love,

Francesca x
