The Magic of Yoga Retreats and the Power of Stepping Away

Ten years ago, almost to the day, I was on a particularly tense flight back from Koh Samui, Thailand. A mother was struggling to pacify her crying baby and it’s ear piercing scream was beginning to test the patience of the other passengers on the small plane. As tensions rose, I realised I was smiling. I’d just spent 10 days nourishing my mind and body on a yoga retreat and nothing could burst the bubble of zen I’d built around me. It’s hardly surprising that I’ve been back four times since and have just booked a 300hr Teacher Training in the same place.

In an ideal world I think everyone would take a retreat at least once a year. It’s more than just a holiday. It’s a chance to reset and realign. In an environment where everything is geared towards nourishment of the mind and body, inner growth is almost inevitable. Meals become mindful, sleep deepens and the nervous system responds, silencing the constant background hum of modern urban living.

Oca London is offering it’s first retreat in Ibiza from Saturday 30th May to Saturday 6th June 2026. 7 days of Yoga, Meditation and Breath-work in magical Villa Natura, nestled in the hills of San Rafael, surrounded by Mediterranean forest and endless blue skies. Villa Natura becomes our home for a week of deep rest, expansion and soul nourishment.

Love,

Seb
