Dissolving - Somatic Dance

Dissolving is an experiential anatomic journey session that Julia has been developing since her Master's at Trinity Laban. It is where, through touch, visualisation, pelvic floor and pelvis research based on movements, brings interconnectivity. Through improvisation, the participant gets in touch with their sensations and self-awareness.

Dissolving is based on diverse dance somatic movement techniques such as Body-Mind Centring, Physical Theatre and Passing Through - the invitation is to Google the terms if you’re not familiar with them, or get in touch.

Dissolving can be incorporated alongside a Creative Process, Performance Making, Therapeutic approach, Body and anatomy sensation enthusiasts.

Just before COVID, many group sessions, as well as 121 sessions, happened in London. During COVID, it had an update to work through Zoom. Ever since, Dissolving travelled to dance studios in the UK, Brazil, Denmark and now in Italy.

This is a group session for all ages, all levels.

Recommended to bring a towel because we get sweaty, as well as layers.

Julia has been using Dissolving to create photography, installations, sculptures, performances, poetry, and drawings for the last 9 years.
