Solstice Story Telling Ceremony

Solstice Storytelling Ceremony — The Story of Your Year

~ Stillness · Cacao · Poetry · Writing · Sharing Stories ~

The Winter Solstice, meaning “sun standing still,” is the moment in the Celtic calendar when nature invites us to pause. As the light reaches its lowest point, we are called inward — to reflect, to honour the year we have lived, and to gather in community for warmth and meaning.

In collaboration with our neighbours at Morocco Bound, this ceremony blends ritual, creativity and connection. Inspired by the ancient tradition of gathering around the fire, we’ll sit together by candlelight for an evening of story, reflection and the gentle medicine of cacao.

What to Expect

15:00 Opening cacao ceremony to ground and soften, led by Gabi

15:45 Somatic meditation and soft seasonal movement, led by Francesca • Storytelling and poetry reading from Slow Progress Book, led by Francesca (a copy of the book is included with your ticket) • Reflective + creative writing prompts to explore “the story of your year” • Closing reflection to gently lay the year down

17:00 Close at Oca and walk together to Morocco Bound for Christmas Carols at Morocco Bound, a fundraising event for Palestine. Your Oca ticket also includes entry to this event. 18:00–19:00 Christmas Carols at Morocco Bound

This is an intimate gathering for those who want to slow down, reconnect and honour their inner year before stepping into the light again.

May we come together in sacred and creative community, and lay the year down in love.
